Now that the season is finally completed and the League Tables finalised congratulations go to Wickbeech for a remarkable achievement of Premier Division champions for the second season running, Essex Junior Cup winners, League Cup winners and Invitation Cup winners. Vorranova will count themselves unlucky as in any other season they would have won something. However, they had to settle for runners up in the Premier Division and League Cup.
In Division 1 Bird United made the running for most of the season and finished deservedly at the top. Banjax will also count themselves unlucky after two very improved seasons they held second spot until the last game of the season when they pipped to the runners spot on goal difference by Vision.
Division 2 was about the newcomers for most of the season. Signet United emulated Anglo F.C. by winning the title at the first attempt with a 100% record. Team Al Aqsa and old stagers, Admirals Park, vied for the runners up spot throughout, with Al Aqsa just nosing ahead at the death. However, as a result of a hearing at Essex County FA, Team Al Aqsa were found guilty of playing a player whilst suspended and the points for that particular game have been awarded to Admirals Park. In addition Team Al Aqsa were docked six points under the League rules for playing an illegible player. Admirals Park therefore finished as runners up.
To those teams who did not manage a trophy or a medal, congratulations on making the League viable and the Committee wish to express the hope that you all continue to enjoy your football and remember this is the Sunday Social League.
